30 Weeks

30 weeks today and Luke had his first unofficial Christmas! I am pretty sure that Luke received just as many gifts as John and I did and he is not even born yet. :) I know that he will always be blessed.
Went to see the doctor, he says everything is going great. I am measuring exactly where he expects me to be, blood pressure is good, and Luke's heart rate is good too. Doc. was able to tell me Luke is head down with his little butt on the top left of my stomach and hands/legs on the right. It is hard to believe that is in just 10 short weeks he will be here. We have our first baby shower this weekend in Odessa so I think the reality of what is about to happen will really begin to set in. I am praying that we are able to be prepared in every way possible (mentally, physically, and spiritually) for his arrival and that neither one of use freak out in our labor/parenting classes in January.

28 Weeks

Christmas 2008

7 months

Officially 7 months on December 15, we are now in our 3rd trimester and we start seeing the doctor every two weeks. Luke is moving all around but it is different now. I feel him shifting and stretching but it is easier for others to SEE my stomach roll or jump than for them to FEEL him move. I think Luke has had the hiccups twice...... I felt very rhymthmic jumping across my whole tummy. :) I am beginning to feel tired faster during the day and I am praying to make it through the next 12 weeks without having a panic attack. My job is very overwhelming right now and then you add in traveling for the holidays, getting the nursery ready and labor/parenting classes next month......... makes me sleepy just thinking about it all. :)

24 Weeks

22 Weeks

24 weeks

Wow how time flies, we will be 24 weeks tomorrow. We have done so much the past two weeks that I can't keep up with it all. We got our crib and dresser/changing table in...... John put it together that day. It looks great. We also have our baby bedding so Luke's nursery is coming along nicely. We cleaned out and organized our garage, a long over due task, and now we can actually use the garage for parking. :) John got to feel Luke move for the first time on Friday and you can actually see my stomach move when he punches, kicks or shifts from one side to the other. Sometimes it tickles when he moves and other times it kind of feels like he is pinching me. :) My books say that Luke is about the size of a bag of oreos now. Next week we are going to finish registering and put up all of our Christmas decorations. We are so excited! I also have my gestational diabetes test on Tuesday, so if you think about it say a little prayer for us.

22 weeks tomorrow

We will be 22 weeks tomorrow. Luke is moving around alot and letting me know when he is awake. We were walking in the mall and I felt something on my right side where I had my purse. I actually turned around because I thought someone was trying to grab my purse....... but I realized it was Luke making some sort of big movement. John and I thought it was so funny.
We ordered our crib and dresser this weekend, as well as our baby bedding. John assembled the rocking chair and ottoman last night while watching the Texas vs Tech game. I cannot believe how fast time is going and I know the holidays will make it go by even faster. Luke will be here before we know it.

Luke David

I think we have decided on the name Luke David. We have tossed around several options but we always come back around to this one. Both Luke and David are biblical as well as family names so it is perfect for our little one.
We started registering at Babies R Us yesterday. It is all so overwhelming but so much fun at the same time. The bedding we chose is brown and sage with little hippos and zebras on it. It is only available online if you want to look at it. We are also going to register at Target but who knows when we will be able to get all that done. Anyways, little Luke is getting hungry so I better fix some dinner. :)

20 Weeks

We had our 20 week doctors appointment today and they still confirmed we are having a boy. I think we are getting closer to choosing a name but who knows when it will be official. Today they looked at Baby Brewer's heart, kidneys, bladder, stomach and brain and everything looks good. They took measurements and determined the baby is about 9 inches 14 ounces, which they said is normal. I thought those numbers sounded big so I came home and checked my baby books and the internet........ which both say 9 ounces and 5.5-6.5 inches is typical for 20 weeks. We are going to have a huge baby!! :) Maybe he will be a professional basketball player. Anyways, the next time I go to the doctor I have to do my gestational diabetes test which means I have to go in fasting and then drink something really gross and sugary, then wait an hour for them to check my blood. I am not looking forward to that so start praying now!! Anyways, Thanks for all of the comments and prayers we have received from everyone who is checking up on the blog....... we really appreciate your support.

19 Weeks

19 Weeks

IT'S A BOY! We found out today........ (19 weeks and 2 days) that we are having a boy. My actual doctor's appointment is not until Monday but my Dad's wife (Danine) did a sonogram today. My mom, dad, and John were also able to be there so it was a fun experience. We have some great pics confirming that it is definitely a boy. ;) Danine is going to give us a CD of all the pics and then I can post some on the blog. Anyways, Baby Brewer is looking good and moving alot. I feel him swimming around on and off all day (and night). The heart burn and backaches are back this week and are probably here to stay for awhile. I have a pregnancy massage next week so maybe there will be some relief. I am so excited about actually getting to pick things out now and have a boy in mind. We are super excited!!

Our New Home (cont.)

17 Weeks Tomorrow

I can't believe we will be 17 weeks tomorrow. Right now it feels like everything is going by so fast but I know it will slow down as soon as I am too big to enjoy it anymore. :) I officially felt the baby move this week .......... feels like bubbles. I woke John up at 6:00am Wednesday morning to share the news, he was happy but a little less enthusiastic (he is not a morning person). I can't wait until he is able to feel movement too, what a miracle! We had a doctor's appointment last week and made the appointment for out 20 week sonogram to find out if we are having a Baby Boy Brewer or a Baby Girl Brewer (October 20 is the day). We also had blood work done to determine if there are any indicators that the baby will have Downs Syndrome...... tests came back negative. Good news! We made the move into our new town home and everything went well. We love the new place, it is so spacious and having a backyard is so awesome for the dogs. We are not completely done unpacking/organizing but it is beginning to look like home.

15 Weeks

We are 15 weeks today. Finally no more "morning"sickness! Praise the Lord! However, I have now developed back issues that have me visiting the chiropracter weekly and receiving pregnancy massages... not that I am complaining. :) I am absolutely positive that pregnancy causes the loss of brain cells, inability to stay awake past 8:00 PM, and an increased need to whine about little things. John is such a trooper and has been so supportive during the pregnancy journey thus far. We had an at home sonogram on Friday, performed by my step mom. Baby Brewer looked very much like he/she was conducting music and then doing toe touchs. We saw arms, legs, fingers, toes and even a profile view of a nose and little lips. I will try to get pictures posted soon. I am already showing and John is very amused by my growing belly. Students and faculty at work make comments daily about the increasing baby bump. And on that note, we are on our way to the gym. Hopefully what we do during pregnancy will help me lose the baby weight faster after Baby Brewer's arrival. We are moving this weeked to a slightly bigger place. Please pray for sanity, safety, and speedy progress.

12 Weeks

Welcome to the first official Baby Brewer Blog. We found out we were expecting at the end of June much to our surprise. We were super excited after we overcame the initial shock. This is the first grandchild on both sides so they are thrilled as well. Telling family and friends was both a nerve racking and exciting time. I had no idea how anyone would react since no one expected it. We were 12 weeks on August 25 which was the day the students returned to school. I was hoping the "morning"sickness would have subsided by then however that was not the case. :) By the 12th week John and I had already seen and heard the baby's heartbeat. WHAT A MIRACLE! We will keep you updated on how the little one is "cooking."
